Application of Laser Welding Machine in Motor Stator Core Welding

2022-06-10

The application of laser welding technology to the welding process of the stator core of the motor is a typical example of many welding cases of Laser Welding Machine manufacturers. It uses a 1000W continuous laser, three-axis servo control, and can process electronic stators with a diameter of 200mm, and can also be customized on demand.

3-axis servo control, high-power rotating motor;

Adopt imported high-quality continuous fiber lasers such as IPG and TRUMPF;

The diameter of the machined motor iron core is 200mm, and it can also be customized on demand;

CCD monitoring system realizes fast teaching programming;

The welding aspect ratio is high and the speed is fast.

So what are the advantages of laser welding compared to other welding processes in welding motor stator cores:

1. Motor stator and rotor punching welding The stator core of the motor is made by various processing techniques such as riveting, buckle, gluing, welding, etc. Among them, the welding parts are widely used because of their high quality and low cost.

The welding piece is to use the silicon steel sheet as the raw material for the stator core. After cutting, punching and other processing processes, the laminations are fastened and laminated, and several welds are longitudinally welded on the outer wall of the laminated stator at a certain distance, so that The surface layers of each silicon steel sheet are welded together to form a whole stator.

During the development of the motor stator welding process, electrode arc welding, CO2 gas shielded welding, argon arc welding, and laser welding have been used successively. From the point of view of welding manufacturability, the latter two welding methods are ideal, while the first two methods obviously have the shortcomings of poor forming and large spatter.

The motor stator lamination material is generally made of cold-rolled or hot-rolled silicon steel sheet, which has good weldability. If laser welding is used, compared with tungsten argon arc welding, not only the productivity is improved, but also the hygiene and safety conditions of the production environment are improved. Eliminates the personal harm caused by strong arc light, ozone and other undesirable oxides during argon arc welding. And can also use computer-controlled double or four or single-machine multi-head output laser beams, which are placed around the outer wall of the stator, so that the number of welds required for the stator to be tightened can be completed by running the welding machine once or twice. The amount of deformation can be greatly reduced, and the processing time can be saved.

2. Welding of the motor rotor shaft and the rotor shaft pressure ring The girth weld before the motor rotor shaft and the pressure ring generally adopts CO2 gas shielded welding or tungsten argon arc welding. The deformation caused by welding is large, and the heat affected zone is large. The heat generated by welding also affects the magnets in the assembled motor body. The laser welding method has the advantages of concentrated energy, high density, high heating efficiency and fast speed, so the deformation of the base metal is small, and the metal in the non-melting area is less affected by heat.

3.Welding of motor rotor shaft and clutch When the motor rotor shaft and clutch are welded, the weld penetration is more than 4mm. If CO2 gas shielded welding or tungsten argon arc welding is used, although the penetration can meet the requirements, the deformation is difficult control. The use of high-power filler wire laser welding can reduce the precision requirements for workpiece bevel processing and assembly, and improve the quality of weld formation; in addition, by adjusting the filler wire composition, the microstructure and properties of the weld area can be controlled.

4. Sealing welding of the motor aluminum alloy casing The connection between the motor aluminum alloy casing and the fuselage generally adopts rivets or bolts, so it is necessary to add a gasket between the motor casing and the fuselage to seal. The sealing effect in this way will weaken with the aging and damage of the gasket, which will affect the overall performance of the motor. If seamless welding is used instead of riveting or bolting, it can not only reduce the weight of the body, shorten the production cycle, but also obtain good sealing performance. Compared with other materials, the weldability of aluminum alloys is poor, and argon tungsten arc welding or laser welding are generally used.
